We are proud to provide food for our families, our communities and our nation as we face this challenge together.

We Have Four Priorities:

  • The safety of our team members
  • Providing food for our country
  • Providing jobs at a time of record unemployment
  • Keeping American agriculture running

Prioritizing Team Member Health & Safety

JBS USA has adopted enhanced safety measures, health protocols and worker benefits to keep our workplaces, team members and products safe. These efforts include:

  • Increased sanitation and disinfection efforts, with an emphasis on common areas like bathrooms, locker rooms and cafeterias
  • Focus on team member training
  • Travel and visitor restrictions
  • Implementing health screenings and 100% temperature testing of all team members
  • Access to extra personal protective equipment, including masks
  • Promoting physical distancing where possible by staggering starts, shifts and breaks, installing large tents to allow for more spacing during lunch breaks, constructing plexiglas dividers to place on lunch tables in common areas, and increasing spacing in cafeterias, break rooms and locker rooms
  • Removing vulnerable populations from our facilities, offering full pay and benefits
  • Encouraging sick team members to stay home from work
  • Waiving short-term disability waiting periods
  • Relaxed attendance policies so people don’t come to work sick
  • 100% of preventative care free to all team members
  • Offering free LiveHealth Online services that allow for virtual doctor visits at no cost

Ensuring Business Continuity

In response to the ongoing spread of coronavirus, JBS USA has established several interventions to ensure the health of our team members, the safety of our products, and our continued ability to provide our customers the highest levels of uninterrupted service. We have already assessed and initiated appropriate redundancy scenarios across our business to ensure resilient service. We are committed to continuing to serve as a trusted partner during this challenging time.

JBS USA Statement on
Executive Order

As we collectively navigate this global pandemic, we thank the Administration for acknowledging the important role food companies serve and ensuring that our food supply will remain resilient during these unpreceded times. This action will help keep food on tables through the essential work of our team members along with producers, growers, retailers, government inspectors, transporters and the entire food supply chain.

Most importantly, the country is now rightly focused on the men and women who feed America and often go unnoticed. To us, they have always been essential, and their health and safety remains our primary focus. Through our continued collaboration with the CDC, USDA and OSHA, we will do all we can to protect them.

Letter from JBS USA CEO

*This letter went to all JBS USA team members on March 23

As we continue to navigate this challenging time together, I could not be more proud of the work you’re doing right now to contribute to our nation’s food supply. I know this is a stressful moment, and it’s an unprecedented time for our country and our company. I assure you that we are doing everything we can to keep you safe, while also meeting the needs of our families, friends and neighbors by keeping grocery stores stocked with high-quality protein.

The stories I’m hearing from team members and facilities about ways you are going above and beyond are a testament to our people and our culture. From a JBS Carriers truck driver who chose to cancel his previously scheduled time off to continue delivering food because he recognizes the magnitude of this situation, to our Greeley Beef production facility that is providing snack packs to team members for their children who are home from school – there are many other examples that I look forward to sharing with you.

As you know, we’ve implemented increased health and safety measures in all of our facilities, including readily available personal hygiene products, and we’re cleaning thoroughly every day while prioritizing ways to ensure your well-being. We also encourage you to continue being diligent about your own health – wash your hands frequently, do not touch your face, cover your coughs and sneezes, avoid shaking hands, and if you are sick, please stay home from work.

You are truly making a difference, and I am honored to serve alongside you. Thank you for your continued commitment to being the best.
