In October, Plumrose USA announced plans to invest $300,000 in Moberly, Mo., to support the community’s future as part of the company’s Hometown Strong initiative. After collaborating with local leaders, four projects have been selected to receive funding.

A check presentation ceremony with photo opportunities is taking place on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 9 a.m. at The Lodge at Rothwell Park.

“We are very excited to support these meaningful projects that will benefit the Moberly community and our team members,” said Joe Machetta, head of operations, Plumrose USA. “Though we are new to the area, our Hometown Strong initiative is allowing us to partner with local leaders and provide infrastructure improvements that will have lasting impacts.”

The projects that will be supported through the Plumrose Hometown Strong initiative include a solar pavilion near Rothwell Park; an amphitheater in Rothwell Park; a splash pad in Tannehill Park; and a contribution to the YMCA that will provide memberships for Plumrose team members.

“With the City of Moberly being the recipient of these funds, we will be able to move Moberly’s quality of life forward with great projects for our community,” said Brian Crane, Moberly city manager. “We are excited to accept these funds from Plumrose USA and start the process of improving the facilities in our parks system. Plumrose USA has been a great corporate citizen in our community and we are excited to partner with them on this initiative.”

"We are thrilled to have established such a strong partnership with Plumrose,” said Troy Bock, director, Moberly Parks and Recreation. “The funds will enable us to construct amenities that will prove to be real assets to the park system and community at large. We appreciate Plumrose being such an incredible new corporate citizen and look forward to the opportunity to develop an ongoing relationship."

"The Randolph Area YMCA is excited to partner with Plumrose USA as they help to strengthen our community while focusing on their employees’ health and wellness,” said Jamie Shirk, CEO, Randolph Area YMCA. “The donation to the Y will go a long way in our continued effort to support our community, especially during these tough economic times. We are grateful to Plumrose USA for stepping up and partnering with organizations all across the country through their Hometown Strong project."

Earlier this year, Plumrose USA announced its intention to build a ready-to-eat, fully cooked bacon plant in Moberly. The Plumrose USA facility is expected to bring nearly 200 new jobs to the area and a $68 million capital investment.
