Building on its ongoing sustainability and social responsibility efforts, Plumrose USA today announced plans to invest $300,000 to help Moberly, Mo., respond to needs resulting from the coronavirus pandemic and invest in the community’s future.

Earlier this year, Plumrose USA announced its intention to build a ready-to-eat, fully cooked bacon plant in Moberly because of its strategic location, along with strong support from the community and the state. The Plumrose USA facility is expected to bring nearly 200 new jobs to the area and a $68 million capital investment.

Plumrose USA has been working with local leaders to identify where the funds can best help meet immediate and longer-term community needs. Projects will be determined by the end of the year.

“Although we are new to the Moberly area, we want to show our support for the community and demonstrate our focus on being a good neighbor through our Hometown Strong initiative,” said Tom Lopez, president, Plumrose USA. “We look forward to building a great team here and hope that this investment will provide benefits for years to come.”

“We are excited about not only the positive economic impact Plumrose will have on our community, but also happy to see their commitment to directly enhancing the quality of life for all in in Moberly,” said Moberly Mayor Jerry Jeffrey.

Plumrose USA is currently hiring for a variety of roles at the Moberly facility, and interested candidates can learn more at www.swiftpreparedfoods.com.
