JBS Five Rivers Cattle Feeding® is an industry leader in raising, feeding, and caring for cattle. Providing animals with a high quality of life is a top priority for Five Rivers. JBS Five Rivers Cattle Feeding has 12 locations in the U.S. and Canada that have a combined feeding capacity of more than 1 million animals.
Five Rivers has veterinarians and nutritionists on staff who work closely with all of the feedyards to ensure animal health and well-being. Each individual animal is checked every day by experienced handlers to ensure animal health, safety, and well-being.
All Five Rivers feedyards have implemented a robust animal handling and welfare program. This program has an intensive cattle handling training component that teaches low-stress handling techniques and emphasizes worker safety. Every employee that works with the animals has specific responsibilities to ensure that we are raising healthy, content and minimally stressed animals.
JBS Five Rivers adheres to best management practices for cattle handling and quality assurance. JBS Five Rivers subscribes to the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) Beef Quality Assurance
program. All of the Five Rivers feedyards are audited annually through the TCFA third party audit program. This audit program is very comprehensive and focuses on a variety of best management practices such as herd health management, nutrition, animal handling, and employee training.
Five Rivers has the ability to conduct substantial research trials focused on nutrition, health, and production practices that contribute to industry knowledge and development of new, improved, best management practices.
